Qualifications
The Trinity College London qualifications have been developed to ensure that students have the vocational competences required to enter the sector at graduate level. The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) have considered and accepted the Trinity College London qualifications in respect of the levels recommended for each of them. The qualifications and levels are as follows:
Level 6
The National Diploma in Professional Acting
The National Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre
The National Diploma in Professional Dance
The National Diploma in Professional Production Skills
Level 5
The National Certificate in Professional Acting
The National Certificate in Professional Classical Ballet
A Level 6 qualification on the new QCA qualifications framework is equivalent to an Honours degree. A level 5 qualification is equivalent to a Foundation or Ordinary degree. As their titles indicate, these qualifications prepare the successful candidate for a professional career and the emphasis in the learning outcomes is on competence rather than knowledge. This does not mean that the students are getting a degree, but it means that their attainment levels in the areas that they study are equivalent to a degree.
